SI recruitment examination on August 13

The written examination for the recruitment to the posts of SCT Sub Inspectors of Police (Civil/AR/APSP), 2008, would be held on August 13 and 14.

According to a press release issued by the Office of the Chairman, State Level Police Recruitment Board, here on Saturday, the candidates who have to attend the test should collect hall tickets and examination centre details from the respective DIG/IG offices from July 11 to 16.

The exact date for issue of hall tickets would be intimated by the respective DIG/IG office in order to prevent overcrowding, the release added.

The written test was earlier postponed in November 2010 after pro-Telangana student groups launched an agitation on 14 (f) clause of Presidential Order, which declared Hyderabad as a free zone for police recruitment.

The agitation then had witnessed violence, buses being burnt down and the Osmania University campus remaining tense due to the protests for few days.

EAMCET Rank Calculation Algorithm

After the announcement of EAMCET marks students are curious to evaluate their score after considering the 25 per cent weightage given to Intermediate marks.

Though some students have appeared for the advanced supplementary examination other students know both the EAMCET and Intermediate marks and they can calculate the marks that will decide the EAMCET rank.
According to the system devised for the weightage issue, marks secured in three subjects in EAMCET will be calculated for 75 per cent and they will be added to the 25 per cent equivalent of the marks scored in the core subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry in case of MPC students and Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany in case of BiPC students.

For example, if a student scores 140 marks out of 160 (total marks) in EAMCET, his marks will be arrived at dividing 140 with 160 and then multiplying the result with 75 (allotted weightage) to get the marks.
Here it will come to 65.625 marks.
